About the EU Center
The EU Center is a part of the European Commission’s official network - called the Enterprise Europe Network - providing information and advice to particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The purpose of the EU Center is to provide enterprises easy access to information and advice about international business development, innovation, research and development.
The Enterprise Europe Network offers a wide range of information and advice to companies, e.g. about internationalisation, the Internal Market, establishment of international cooperation, EU legislation and policies, funding possibilities, electronic surveillance of public procurements, transfer of know-how and technologies, innovation as well as research and technological development.
Before the establishment of The Enterprise Europe Network in 2008, the EU Center was a part of the European Commission’s Euro Info Centre (EIC)-network from 1989 to 2007.
How the EU Center can help your company
• Provides information and advice about funding opportunities within the European Union and in other connections
• Writes project applications
• Finds foreign project partners
• Answers all kinds of questions in relation to the European Union, including European legislation and policies
• Gives feedback to the European Commission about inconvenient legislation and policies
• Provides information and advice about export possibilities as well as the possibilities of establishing a company abroad
• Finds foreign co-operation partners (technological co-operation, suppliers, distributors, producers etc.)
• Carries out electronic surveillance of public procurements across Europe according to your company’s specific profile.
• Provides information and advice about the public procurement legislation in the EU and writes the offer

500 offices in 40 countries
The Enterprise Europe network consists of no less than 500 offices in 40 different countries. The network is the largest one of its kind in the world and consequently also an ideal entrance for companies to a “Europe of possibilities”. The large number of offices in the network cooperates across boarders both in regards of company inquiries, establishment of cooperation between companies and implementation of different projects as well as other activities.

Organisation and financing
The EU Center is a part of the Business Development Centre for Herning & Ikast-Brande (Erhvervsrådet Herning & Ikast-Brande). The EU Center receives financial support from the two municipalities Herning and Ikast-Brande and from the European Commission.

The EU Center’s steering group
The EU Center has its own steering group consisting of five business representatives:

Employees, users and cooperation partners
The EU Center has four employees. In addition to that the other employees in the Business Development Centre carry out different EU-tasks when necessary. You can see the employees of the EU Center here.
The EU Center helps a very wide range of companies within a lot of different businesses. The users are mainly small and medium sized enterprises in the Central Denmark Region. To a smaller extent the users are public institutions and common citizens.
The EU Center has a continuous cooperation on a local, national and international level. Typically, the cooperation concerns information meetings and specific projects. The cooperation includes first of all Danish and European partners in the Enterprise Europe Network, but also the local business development centres, national authorities and organisations as well as local and regional knowledge centres and educational institutions.
Co-operation with the Central Denmark EU Office
The EU Center cooperates with the Central Denmark EU Office which represents the 19 municipalities of the Mid Jutland Region and its regional government. The cooperation includes mutual references of inquiries, projects and information meetings.
